Policy Review

Perennial Economics can contribute to the development and review of policy for industry and Government agencies.

As an example, water industry assignments could  include projects for Government focussing on water policy issues. This can include assessment of market based measures (e.g. buybacks and leasing arrangements) for water recovery for the Murray Darling river and incentives to encourage on-farm investment and uptake of water use efficiency measures across the Basin in NSW and QLD.

Policy review work could include a review of policy mechanisms for delivering strategic conservation outcomes on private and public land or a review of proposed changes to kangaroo management program sealed tag allocation system.

Perennial Economics also can  undertake cost recovery projects. For instance, this could involve a review of an application of cost recovery principles and the development of a cost recovery model. For example, we could develope a spreadsheet model that attributes Aquaculture Group budget to commercial aquaculture sectors according to relevant cost recovery principles. The model would provide an  estimate of cost recovery income for a range of cost, production and industry development assumptions.
